Hi everyone,
Just a quick message tonight to let you know that everything went really well today. I saw Dr. Friedberg and Lynn Rich at 9:00 this morning. All GOOD news. Stage III (not four which was a huge relief!) I was thrilled that I had normal test results for the bone marrow aspiration and MUGA heart test. The treatment plan is that I will have eight cycles of chemotherapy and the first one is DONE! I qualify for a clinical trail and the 8 chemo cycles will be followed by one other drug called Bexar.
I was at the Wilmot center until 7:00 p.m. with the infusion of the CHOP-R drugs. The good news is that while they shared all these scary possible side effects--I didn't experience ANY of them!!!!!
I'm pretty tired and have the slightest of aches around my forehead--not even severe enough to say it's a headache--so I'm going to rest but I just had to let you know that while I'm not sure you can say a day getting chemo is a "good" day, this was right up there.
I'm relieved to get this first treatment behind me. I will post more about it (with pictures) very soon.
Thank you for all the your kind thoughts, prayers and warm and wonderful messages. I am truly blessed by your presence in my life.
With love,
Ellie

Hey Ellie!
I was thinking about you a lot today and I am so happy that the news was good and that the first round of chemo went well. One down, 7 more to go.... you are on your way to kicking this thing to the curb.
Love you,
Sue
Way to go, Ellie! Your optimism is contagious and inspirational. My thoughts and prayers were with you today. T-minus 7 remaining.
Kick the cancer's ass! (sorry if I should have used a more appropriate word, but sometimes it is actually quite fitting *grin*)
Carpe Diem!

Hi Ellie --
Hope you are not up this late, but my brisket for Passover is done! The recipe is in last month's bon appetite and seems like a winner (prunes and carrots and onions, what can be bad?)
You were AWESOME today! As many cancer survivors say, attitude is a big factor and yours is terrific. I hope the next few days won't be too difficult. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Much love,
Carol
Great news, Ellie!!! I thought about you all day yesterday - did a few extra laps just for you this AM.
Sending strength and love,

Hi Ellie,
Love the blog. You did great yesterday and we are so fortunate that you did not have to experience any of the side effects that could have occurred. This is already a great victory in this fight. Rest up and look forward to the sunshine this weekend promises!

Hi Ellie,
I was thinking of you since you started the blog on your lymphoma. It was very scary at the beginning, because I realized that my time became numbered or countable. It does become manageable once you let God to take care of you in the best way He can do.
I did the same when two doctors told me that I had enlarged lymph node last September. I took the long CT scan with blood dye, and then it came out negative. My arthritis specialist was very concerned about this issue, because he prescribed me to take Enbrel weekly. Lymphoma is one of rare side effects of taking Enbrel. A month later, the "enlarged lymph node turned out to be the "simple", rolled-up large lipoma after it was surgically removed last December. The biopsy on the lipoma ensured that there were no abnormal cells. This issue may “reoccur” in the distant future, because I resume taking Enbrel, which is very beneficial for my Anylosing Spondilytics..
I know you will do fine with God's support. Please do read the Bible daily and attend the Bible study group weekly. They do help you emotionally and spiritually.
I will pray for you.
God bless you.
